Guedes enjoying best numbers of his career to date
A terrific week for the Portuguese saw him break into double figures for LaLiga goals
Gonçalo Guedes is in top form. The Portuguese is currently enjoying the best season of his career, and he demonstrated just why with his impact this past week. Guedes scored in the win against Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey, then went on to get the opener in the weekend triumph over Granada CF.
This season he has scored 12 goals in total: 10 in LaLiga and 2 in the Copa del Rey. Before this campaign, his previous best tally in professional football was in the 2018-2019 season, in which he scored 8 goals for Valencia CF (5 in LaLiga and 3 in the Europa League).
Guedes' goals have proven decisive on many occasions, as his strikes against Deportivo Alavés, CA Osasuna, Elche CF, Levante UD and Granada CF all helped the team to take victory.
In the Copa del Rey, he found the net in the win over Cádiz CF in the quarterfinals, and scored the decisive goal in the second leg of the semifinals against Athletic Club.
